Just 57 cents a day...

Here in the USA, the school year is wrapping up and it’s time to think about summer camp! If you have a child that goes, or you remember summer camp fondly from your own childhood, you know the tremendous value of this special experience.

For a child in South Africa, it means even more. Our camps work with disadvantaged youth so for them, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Before camp, the kids are mostly looking forward to getting 3 meals a day, something that often doesn’t happen at home. Then they are overjoyed when they get a Tshirt, a pair of tennis shoes and socks, a waterbottle, and a bag to put it all in. They are even MORE excited when they receive their very own Bible that they get to keep!

By the end of camp, what they love most about camp has changed. They will tell you how much they have changed because they have newfound confidence and won’t give up on the things they want to accomplish. They will tell you that they never knew God wanted to be their best friend and now they know how deeply loved and valued they are. They will tell you that they now have the courage to speak up about abuse they have experienced and will get counseling to heal. They will tell you that they will never forget PLAY camp.

Donate $17 a month and you have covered the costs of sending one child per year to camp. 224 kids come to PLAY camp each year. Right now, only 36 of those kids are sponsored by monthly donors. Our goal for this campaign is to get 188 more monthly sponsors. We can do it!

A one-time donation of $200 also sends a kid to camp, but we hope you will consider making a monthly commitment. PLAY really needs the long-term sustainability that monthly donors provide.
